Magnets and Magnetic Materials

Only some materials are magnetic, such as iron, steel and nickel, and magnet poles that differ attract while like poles repel. Children sort materials, predict attract or repel for pairs of poles, and explain how to spot a real magnet, how a magnet differs from a magnetic material, and how to plan a fair strength test.
