Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 2026-09-12
Where we are, and which rules we apply to you. QuizByt is operated from Lahore, Pakistan. Because we offer the service to people well beyond Pakistan, more than one body of law reaches us, so rather than apply the least demanding one, we hold ourselves to the strictest and give everybody the benefit of it.
- In the EU, the EEA and the UK, not yet. We do not currently offer QuizByt to people in the European Union, the wider EEA or the United Kingdom, and those countries are marked “coming soon” at registration. Registering a company in Germany is under way and the data protection work that goes with it is the reason the date is not fixed: it means designating a representative under Art. 27 of the GDPR and the UK GDPR, and putting a lawful basis in place for data reaching Pakistan, which has an adequacy decision from neither. We would rather say “not yet” than take your money first and comply afterwards.
- In the United States: COPPA governs children under 13, California’s SOPIPA governs services built for schools, and the state privacy laws give you rights we honour wherever in the US you live, without first checking whether we cross a revenue threshold that would force us to.
- In Pakistan and everywhere else: Pakistan has no general data protection statute in force yet; a Personal Data Protection Bill has been pending for several years. We do not treat that as permission to do less. The standard described in our Privacy Policy is applied to every user of QuizByt, whatever passport they hold.
1. Who we are
QuizByt is operated by QuizByt, B Block, Askari 11, Lahore 54000, Pakistan. Full details are in our Imprint. These terms govern your use of the QuizByt website and service.
Your contract with us is formed electronically when you complete registration or checkout. Under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance 2002, an electronic contract and an electronic record are as binding in Pakistan as their paper equivalents, and we treat them that way for every customer.
2. Your account
You need an account to use most of the service. You must give accurate information and keep your login details private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to it.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to harm others, or where we are required to by law. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first.
3. Children and parental consent
This service is built for school students, so many of our users are children. The age at which a child can agree for themselves differs by country, and we apply whichever rule protects the child more:
- Under 13, anywhere: a parent or guardian must set the account up and consent to it. For children in the United States this is required by COPPA, and we apply it worldwide rather than by geography. We collect only what running the service needs, and we never condition a child’s participation on giving us more than that.
- Under 16 in the EU/EEA or UK: consent must come from a parent or guardian (GDPR Art. 8; some member states set the age as low as 13, and we follow the higher figure).
- Under 18 in Pakistan: a person under 18 is a minor under the Majority Act 1875, so a parent or guardian enters this contract on their behalf.
By creating an account you confirm you are old enough to do so, or that a parent or guardian has agreed for you. A parent or guardian may at any time see, correct, export or delete their child’s data, withdraw consent, or close the account. See our Privacy Policy. Withdrawing consent means we stop processing and delete the child’s data; it does not cost you anything.
We show no advertising of any kind inside QuizByt, and we do not sell or rent student data. That is a standing commitment, not a setting.
One thing you should know plainly, because it is the kind of detail policies usually bury. Our public pages, including the Kindergarten playground at /kids, carry the Meta Pixel, the Google Ads tag and Google Tag Manager, which measure whether our Facebook, Instagram and Google advertising works and which buttons visitors press on those pages. They load only if you have allowed the marketing category in the cookie banner, and they never load while anyone is signed in, so they are never attached to your child’s account and never see what they study, score or read. What they can see is that a browser opened a public page. If you would rather they did not run on a page you open for your child, refuse the marketing category in Cookie settings and it will never load at all, for you, on any page, permanently.
4. Schools and teachers
Where a school signs up and adds its own students, the school decides what is collected and why; we process that data on the school’s instructions. For a US school this makes us a school official with a legitimate educational interest under FERPA, and the school keeps control of the education records. For a school in the EU or UK the school is the controller and we are its processor under GDPR Art. 28.
A school may ask us at any time to export or delete the data of its students, and we will do so within the time its own law requires.
5. Plans, trial and payment
We offer a free tier, a 14-day trial, and paid monthly and yearly plans. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, including any tax that applies to you. Where a second or third sibling profile is added to a yearly plan, its price and terms are shown before you pay.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period unless you turn renewal off, which you can do at any time from your dashboard. We will tell you before a renewal takes place and before any price change affects you.
Payments are handled by Stripe, JazzCash or EasyPaisa. We never see or store your full card details.
6. Cancellation and right of withdrawal
You can cancel at any time, wherever you live; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Consumers in the UK, the EU and the EEA also have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. It does not arise today because we do not yet offer the service in those countries, and it will apply in full when we open there. How it works, and the one situation in which it ends early, are set out on our Right of Withdrawal page.
7. Acceptable use
Please do not: share your account with others; copy, resell or redistribute our worksheets, lessons or quizzes outside your own study or teaching; upload unlawful, harmful or abusive material; attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service; or use automated tools to extract our content in bulk.
Some of these are also criminal offences. In Pakistan, unauthorised access to an information system or data, and interference with it, are offences under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016; comparable laws apply elsewhere. We report serious abuse, and anything that endangers a child, to the appropriate authority.
Teachers and schools may use our materials for teaching their own students. They may not redistribute them publicly or sell them.
8. Content and intellectual property
Our lessons, quizzes, worksheets, software and branding belong to us or our licensors, and are protected by the Copyright Ordinance 1962 and the Trade Marks Ordinance 2001 in Pakistan and by equivalent law elsewhere. QuizByt™ (trademark application pending with IPO-Pakistan). Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use them for study or teaching, not ownership of them.
Content you create (for example a quiz you author as a teacher) remains yours. By submitting it you give us the right to host, display and distribute it within the service so it can be reviewed and used by students, and you confirm you have the right to give us that permission.
9. Availability
We work to keep the service available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we make a significant change that disadvantages a paying subscriber, we will tell you beforehand and you may cancel and receive a refund of the unused part.
10. Liability
We are fully liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms removes or reduces a right you have as a consumer that your own law says cannot be removed or reduced, including the mandatory consumer protections of the Punjab Consumer Protection Act 2005 or its provincial equivalent, of EU and UK consumer law, or of the state in which you live in the United States.
11. Complaints and consumer rights
Write to us first at info@quizbyt.com or on WhatsApp at +92 322 7865454. We aim to answer within 5 working days. If we cannot put it right:
- Pakistan: a consumer in Punjab may file before a Consumer Court under the Punjab Consumer Protection Act 2005; other provinces have their own equivalent statutes.
- EU/EEA and UK: we do not offer the service there yet. When we do, you will keep your statutory rights over faulty or misdescribed digital services and may use whatever national consumer body applies to you.
- United States: you may raise the matter with your state Attorney General or, for a privacy complaint about a child, the Federal Trade Commission.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will give you reasonable notice by email or in the service before it takes effect, and you may cancel if you do not accept it. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts at Lahore have jurisdiction.
This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live. If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK you may bring proceedings in your own country’s courts and the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence continues to apply to you. If you are in the United States, nothing here waives a right your state law gives you that cannot be waived.

Where the company is registered. QuizByt is based in Pakistan and QUIZBYT is our registered trademark there, held at B Block, Askari 11, Lahore 54000, Pakistan. Every legal matter, including anything arising from this page, is handled from Lahore at present, and the Pakistani entity is the one you are contracting with.
We have started registering a company in Germany and are working through the EU data protection requirements that come with it. Once that is complete the head office will be in Germany, and this page will say so, with the German details, before the change takes effect. Until you read it here, nothing about the paragraph above has changed.
