Accessibility Statement

We want QuizByt to be usable by every student, including those who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, need large text, or find motion uncomfortable. This statement says honestly where we are.

Standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That is the benchmark applied to commercial websites under the Americans with Disabilities Act and to federally funded purchasers under Section 508 in the United States, and it is also the standard behind EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act, which we are building to now, ahead of opening in Europe, rather than treating as a problem for later.

What we have done

• Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the focused element is always visibly outlined.
• A “Skip to content” link lets keyboard and screen-reader users bypass the navigation.
• Pages declare their language, use real headings in order, and use landmark regions.
• Form fields have real labels, and validation errors are announced, not only coloured.
• Text and controls meet the WCAG AA contrast ratios, and text reflows without loss at 200% zoom.
• Meaning is never carried by colour alone, quiz feedback also uses text and icons.
• Animation is reduced automatically for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.

Known limitations

We are being straightforward rather than claiming perfection:

• Some interactive games are inherently visual and are difficult to complete with a screen reader. They are never required to progress, and the lessons, quizzes and worksheets they accompany are.
• Some worksheets are PDFs produced from older source files and may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need one in an accessible format, ask us and we will provide it.
• The scrollytelling lessons rely on scrolling; each also has a plain, linear reading order for assistive technology.

If something is not usable for you, email info@quizbyt.com and describe what you were trying to do. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to fix accessibility faults ahead of other work. If you are not satisfied with our response, a reader in the US may raise it under the ADA; once we open in Europe, a reader there will be able to contact the market surveillance authority for their member state.
