Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-12
A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We ask before storing or reading anything that is not strictly necessary for the service you asked for. That is what the EU ePrivacy Directive and the national laws implementing it require, and we apply it to every visitor rather than only to those whose law compels it.
Your current choice
Open cookie settings, change or withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing is exactly as easy as giving it.
Categories we use
Strictly necessary (always active, no consent needed)
Your session and sign-in, security and anti-abuse protection, and the cookie that remembers this very choice. The service cannot be delivered without these. Your session cookie identifies your browser to us for as long as you stay signed in; it is deleted when you sign out or when the session expires.
Preferences (consent)
Remembers settings such as your country, so you do not set them again on every visit.
Analytics (consent)
Aggregate counts of which pages are used, so we know what to improve. Not used to identify you personally and never used to profile children.
Marketing (consent)
Measures whether our advertising reaches the right audience. Off unless you turn it on, and never switched on for an account we know belongs to a student.
In this category we use three tools: the Meta Pixel, which tells us how many people who saw a Facebook or Instagram advert went on to sign up; the Google Ads tag, which does the same for Google advertising; and Google Tag Manager, through which we record which buttons on our public pages are pressed (for example "Start free trial" or "See plans"), so we know which pages persuade and which do not. If you allow them, they load on our public pages: the home page, the blog, pricing, the pages describing the service, the sign-in page, the registration forms, the free lessons and the Kindergarten playground. They are never loaded once you are signed in, so they never run while a student is using the service and are never attached to a student account. If you never allow the marketing category they are never loaded at all, and we do not use the versions that work without JavaScript, because those cannot ask first.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out of analytics and marketing cookies and you do not need to do anything else. California law requires this to be honoured; we honour it wherever the signal comes from.
How long they last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Your consent choice is kept for 12 months, after which we ask again.
If you refuse
Everything you pay for keeps working. Refusing optional cookies never limits access to lessons, quizzes or worksheets.
