Parts of a Plant and Their Functions
A flowering plant has four main parts: roots take in water, the stem holds it up and carries water, leaves make food and the flower makes seeds. Children name the job of each part, complete sentences about leaves, petals and stems, explain what happens with no roots or no light, and draw and label a plant.
