Energy and Its Dissipation
Energy is never used up; it moves between stores and some spreads out as heat, which is what we call dissipated or wasted energy. Students name energy stores, describe transfers in a falling ball, a torch and a solar panel, and calculate efficiency from figures in joules. Written answers explain why no machine is 100% efficient and why a rollercoaster never climbs back to its starting height.
