Lights Out
Lights Out looks simple, yet every tap changes five lights at once, so random tapping rarely gets anywhere. Students in Class 6–8 soon notice that the order of taps makes no difference and that tapping a light twice cancels out, two ideas that lead straight into logical reasoning and early algebra.
- Logical deduction
- Cause and effect
- Pattern reasoning
How to play
Tap a light to flip it and its four neighbours. Switch every light off to win.
