๐ป Mowgli and the Sleepy Jungle
๐Jungle ยท about 3 min ยท ages 2 to 6
Deep in the jungle, the sun went down. The trees turned purple. The leaves went hush, hush, hush.
Mowgli lived with the wolves. Mother Wolf licked his nose. "Time for bed, little frog," she said.
But Mowgli was not sleepy. "I want to say good night to everyone first!" he said. And off he ran.
He found Baloo the bear under a honey tree. "Good night, Baloo!" Baloo gave a big, slow yawn. "Good night, little one. Sleep like a bear."
High on a branch lay Bagheera the panther. His eyes shone like two green lamps. "Good night, Bagheera!" "Good night, Mowgli. Walk softly home."
Hathi the elephant stood by the river. His ears flapped slowly. "Good night, Hathi!" Hathi lifted his trunk. "Good night, man cub. Dream of long walks."
The monkeys were chattering in the treetops. "Good night, monkeys!" "Good night, good night, good night!" they called, until one by one they fell quiet.
The peacock folded his feathers. The frogs sang a slow song by the pond. Even the fireflies blinked slower, and slower.
Mowgli walked back to the wolf den. His legs felt heavy. His eyes felt heavy too. He curled up between his wolf brothers, warm and safe.
"Good night, jungle," whispered Mowgli. And the jungle whispered back, "Good night, Mowgli." Then everyone was asleep. Good night to you, too.
