Pattern games for ages 3 to 6

A row of tiles repeats, and your child picks what comes next. Patterns start as simple as red, blue, red, blue and grow to three-part repeats as the rounds go on. Nothing is timed, so there is no rush.

Spotting a repeating pattern is one of the early maths skills most closely linked to later results in school. Ask your child to say the pattern out loud before choosing; hearing the rhythm often makes the answer obvious.
