Approximation and Estimation: Practice
Rounding and estimating help you check whether an answer is sensible, but decimal places and significant figures are counted differently. Questions practise rounding to 1, 2 and 3 decimal places and to the nearest hundred or thousand, counting significant figures in numbers such as 0.00408, and spotting a student's double-rounding mistake. An estimation section follows.
