Atomic Structure and Bonding: Practice
An atom's proton number fixes its number of electrons and so its electronic configuration, and whether atoms transfer or share outer electrons decides between ionic and covalent bonding. Formula writing that balances charge (aluminium oxide, ammonium sulfate), dot-and-cross diagrams for chlorine, water and magnesium chloride, and a relative atomic mass calculation for boron are all included.
