Negative Numbers

Negative numbers sit below zero on the number line, and the further left a number is, the smaller it gets. Children circle the smaller of two numbers, count back through zero, and solve temperature problems such as a fall from 3 °C to −4 °C, then explain why −5 is smaller than −2.
