Disease and Hygiene
Most microorganisms are harmless or useful, but some cause disease, and simple habits like handwashing stop many of them spreading. Pupils name the four groups of germs and four routes of spread, sort examples such as yeast and the malaria parasite into useful or harmful, and explain how vaccines work and why antibiotics cannot cure a cold.
