Introduction to the Periodic Table
The periodic table arranges elements by atomic number into groups (columns) and periods (rows), with metals on the left and non-metals on the right. Pupils give symbols, name Groups 1, 7 and 0, and use position to predict how potassium reacts with water. Short written answers also cover helium in balloons, argon in light bulbs and why Mendeleev left gaps.
