Squares, Cubes and Roots
Squaring a number means multiplying it by itself, cubing means doing it three times, and a root undoes the power. Learners work out squares and cubes, find square and cube roots, and place √50 between two whole numbers. Word problems ask for the side of a square field from its area and the side of a cubical box that holds 1000 cm³.
