Biological Molecules and Enzymes: Practice
Enzymes are protein catalysts, and each substrate must fit an enzyme's active site, which is why high temperatures and the wrong pH reduce activity. Students name the elements and building blocks of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, describe the food tests with reagents and colour changes, interpret a set of results and sketch enzyme activity against temperature.
