You run fast in the playground. Name one thing you feel in your body afterwards, and say why it happens.

  1. rest: ♥ slow run: ♥ ♥ fast
    Notice your heart beating faster. Put a hand on your chest.
    Noticing what your own body does is the easiest way to learn about it.
  2. legs need more blood → ♥ pumps faster
    Your heart pumps blood. Running means your legs need more, so the heart works harder.
    Your body parts work together. The legs ask for more, so the heart speeds up.
  3. run → ♥ faster + 🫁 faster
    You also breathe faster, because your body needs more air.
    Breathing and heartbeat go together. Both speed up when you run and slow down when you rest.

Answer: Your heart beats faster and you breathe faster, because your body needs more blood and air
